Biography

Sadie chose to start learning the flute at age nine after taking particular interest in the recorder, which she learned the year prior at Meadow Pond Elementary School. Her grandmother was a huge advocate for her musical education, taking her to weekly private lessons with Jane Shelly in Wilton, CT. Sadie went on to study with Adrianne Greenbaum, who encouraged her to join the Norwalk Youth Symphony. She was accepted as the youngest in the orchestra at age ten, and this was the beginning of her love for playing in orchestra.

At thirteen, she won the Alexander & Buono International Flute Competition, for which she debuted at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall. Sadie then studied with Carol Wincenc at Juilliard Pre-College for two years, during which she played with both the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra and New York Youth Symphony Orchestra.

In 2022, Sadie was invited to play with Carnegie Hall’s NYO2, which included a six-day residency in Miami Beach, culminating in a performance at the New World Center. The following summer, she embarked on a North American tour with the National Youth Orchestra of the USA, performing under the direction of Sir Andrew Davis alongside renowned soloists Gil Shaham and Hilary Hahn.

Sadie is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music Degree in Flute Performance at the New England Conservatory in Boston, MA, studying with Paula Robison. Outside of school, Sadie is Principal Flutist of Benjamin Zander’s Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. In her time with the orchestra, she has performed in two international tours to Europe and Mexico, and has had the privilege of performing major flute solos such as Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé and Debussy’s Afternoon of the Faun.

In addition to her dedication to flute, Sadie is an avid runner, currently training for the New York City Marathon which will take place on November 2nd, 2025. She will be running alongside her brother and twin sister to raise funds for Release Recovery Foundation. Aside from running, Sadie enjoys reading, hiking, and practicing yoga.
